National Anti-Corruption Commission Appointment
I propose to recommend to the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), the appointment of Ms Kylie Kilgour as a Deputy Commissioner of the National Anti Corruption Commission.
Ms Kilgour was selected for this role through a merit-based selection process. Ms Kilgour will bring a wealth of experience to complement the Commission’s existing leadership team.
The Parliamentary Joint Committee on the National Anti-Corruption Commission has provided its approval for this appointment, as required by the National Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2022.
If the proposed appointment is approved by the Governor-General in Federal Executive Council, Ms Kilgour will become the Commission’s third substantive Deputy Commissioner.
With Ms Kilgour’s proposed appointment, the Albanese Government continues to deliver on our commitment to restore integrity and accountability to government, following the legislation of a powerful, transparent and independent National Anti-Corruption Commission last year.
I would like to thank the former Integrity Commissioner, Ms Jaala Hinchcliffe, for her service as an Acting Deputy Commissioner since the Commission commenced operations on 1 July 2023.
Biography
Ms Kilgour is currently a Deputy Commissioner in Victoria’s Independent Broad-based Anti-Corruption Commission.
She was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Victoria’s Royal Commission into Management of Police Informants and has experience leading sensitive investigations.
Ms Kilgour’s proposed term of appointment as Deputy Commissioner will be for five years, commencing on 12 February 2024.
