LABOR LISTENS TO FRANKSTON

Leader of the Opposition Bill Shorten and Member for Isaacs Mark Dreyfus held a Town Hall Forum and Q&A at the Mechanics Institute in Frankston on Saturday, with well over 200 local residents turning up.

Frankston residents turned out in force to meet Australias alternative Prime Minister, Mr Dreyfus said.

There is a real appetite here in Frankston for a Member of Parliament and a Leader who listens to our community.

Frankston has suffered under the Turnbull Governments decision to cut funding to healthcare, universities and schools to fund a big business tax cut. Saturdays turnout and Frankstons warm welcome to Bill Shorten shows that Frankston is ready for change and ready for a Member of Parliament that listens to them.

Chris Crewther has not represented the needs of the Frankston community. With an election likely in 2018 or 2019, he is running out of time to show some spine and stand up to his governments cuts, Mr Dreyfus said.

The Town Hall Forum and Q&A featured questions about aged care, universities, healthcare, Australian manufacturing, the housing affordability crisis and local job opportunities for young people.

Labor is listening to the Frankston community. Its time that Chris Crewther did too.
