Federal Member for Isaacs Mark Dreyfus will hold his third annual National Youth Week Leaders Forum on Friday 22 April.
This forum has been a great success over the past two years, Mr Dreyfus said.
I am very pleased to be able to hold my third leaders forum at Parkdale Secondary College and I thank the school for hosting this great local event. Young people in the Isaacs community have so much to offer and such great ideas to share, and I am glad that my forum offers an avenue for young local residents to talk to community leaders and their local MP, Mr Dreyfus said.
About 50 high school students from years 10-12 participate in a Q&A style forum, discussing issues that matter to young people today. The students are joined by a panel of four young leaders from different organisations who have a wealth of knowledge about the issues that young people care about. The four topics to be covered this year are: international development, environment, mental health and education.
National Youth Week 2016 will be held from 8 April to 17 April 2016, incorporating the theme It Starts with Us. Further information about National Youth Week can be found at: http://www.youthcentral.vic.gov.au
