DELIVERING FOR DANDENONG HOSPITAL
A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will strengthen and protect Australia’s healthcare system for people in south-east Melbourne by committing $5 million to the upgrade of Dandenong Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
Providing services to more than 1.5 million residents in south-eastern Melbourne, Dandenong Hospital is an essential feature in our community.
However, in recent years concerns have been raised about the suitability of the physical infrastructure of the ICU.
This $5 million election commitment will deliver a modernised ICU including larger patient cubicles, new private rooms, improved equipment storage, new training spaces for staff and an improved assessment centre including additional ensuite bathrooms and secure medication rooms.
A re-elected Albanese Labor Government is committed to ensuring every Australian can access high quality medical care when they need it. Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
