Supporting green jobs and technology locally

Mark Dreyfus, Federal Member for Isaacs, has announced that a local manufacturing company will receive nearly $1 million to develop new innovative technology under the Rudd Government’s Climate Ready program.

Clean TeQ Limited in Dandenong South will receive $999,903 to assist in the development trials of a pre-treatment process that will separate waste from water with no sediment.

Mark Dreyfus said that in a time of financial crisis, it is important to support companies like Clean TeQ in developing environmentally friendly technology that helps create green jobs.

"This project will boost the local economy by supporting local jobs in these tough economic times," Mark Dreyfus said

“The effects of climate change are already making themselves felt and it's great to see companies like Clean TeQ acting now to find solutions.”

Mark Dreyfus at Clean TeqChief Executive Officer of Clean TeQ, Greg Toll, said that this funding will allow his company to fast track development and keep employing new staff.

“Clean TeQ has almost doubled its staff from 17 staff to 30 in the past 18 months, and this funding will put us in a position to hire more engineers to undertake this project,” Greg Toll said.

“Thanks to this Federal Government grant we’ll be able to trial our pre-treatment technologies that will provide the desalination process of separating waste from water in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.”
